The story

This is my account of going from being a bad boy, to joining the army (TA), being earmarked for special forces only for the MoD to find out I had a mental disorder. From here I ended up in a Hull prison and then being locked up indefinitely in a medium secure mental hospital with some of the most dangerous people in Yorkshire. Sometimes sad sometimes funny, this is my account of what it like to live with a mental disorder, how others can stigmatize this and how I proved against the odds I wasn’t another one of society’s rejects. Also how my time in the army helped me deal with life locked up under an indefinite section.

5.0 out of 5 stars Devastatingly honest, A must read for any student Nurse or Medic who wants to learn how NOT to do it Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 September 2020Verified Purchase

“Wow, What a Marvellous book. This is a faithful glimpse at the Dark side of the NHS people are often left ignorant of. Having been “both sides of the office door” it is refreshing to find a book and an Author willing to highlight what must change as well as give praise to those few who earned it. This book had me Laughing and Crying in almost equal measure. Thanks for telling the tale. ANYONE THINKING OF A CAREER IN THE NHS READ THIS BOOK!.”

“An emotional, fantastic insight into the effects the military can have on an individual’s mental health. This book is raw and true, and I would recommend it to anyone, regardless of your interest in the army. A brilliant read, eye-opening and the type of book which will stay with you forever.”

“I 100% recommend that people read this book. An honest account of a very important life journey and an insight into the world of someone whose mental health goes wrong, and then comes out of the other side.”
